I am anything but unique. I’m a Navy brat with four sisters and two brothers, who grew up in New York and Northern Virginia. I graduated from high school in 1968 and went into the Navy. After four years, I went to the University of Missouri-Columbia where I got a bachelor’s in journalism and married my first wife. I worked in Missouri, Michigan, North Dakota, New Jersey, Virginia and finally Florida. I got divorced in 1994 and had residential custody of my 3 boys. I remarried in 1999.
